Shigeru Ban Presentation
|Date:||March 26, 2015|
|Location:||Perot Museum of Nature and Science|
On March 26, Austin College will welcome Mr. Shigeru Ban to campus and to the Perot Museum as the 2015 recipient of the college’s Posey Leadership Award in recognition of his service in global disaster relief through architectural designs using environmentally friendly materials. The pioneering architect has designed disaster relief shelters around the world that have given millions a place to call home. His work as an innovative architect and humanitarian—building disaster relief shelters of recyclable cardboard and paper—has given new insight to the world of architecture.
On Thursday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m., Ban will speak at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science for the Austin College Global Outreach GO! Forum, where he will receive his award from President Hass and Todd Williams, Austin College Board of Trustees chair and a 1982 graduate of the college. Tickets start at $50 and are available online. VIP tickets, which include entry to a 6:00 p.m. reception with Mr. Ban, are $150.
