Architecture Things to Do This Weekend

Looks like it's going to be a great weekend in North Texas to get out and about and check out some architecture. Here are some ideas.

I'm headed west to see the AndyWarhol show at the Ando-designed Modern Art Museumof Fort Worth and the Georgia O’Keefe exhibition atthe National Cowgirl Museumand Hall of Fame, but won't pass up the opportunity to admire the other greatmuseum buildings in the district while I’m there.  Philip Johnson’s Amon Carter.  Louis Kahn’s Kimball.  And the newest in the neighborhood,  Legoretta + Legoretta’s Fort Worth Museum ofScience and History.  ArchitecturalRecord has areview.

I wish I could head even further west for Modernism Week in Palm Springs.  Time magazine has its preview here.  I love me some mid-century minimalism, butwill have to wait until the White RockHome Tour (and the exhibition we’re co-presenting here at the Center) for amore local fix.

And, of course, if you’relooking for something to do, there’s always the things we have going on here.  A local architect has started a blog worthyour read…and he is kind enough to endorse the interesting stuff we’re coming up with.  Check it out here.

Come see us!
