A Few Tidbits of Architectural News...

We're late with our mid-week news roundup.  But here we go...some information on an Uptown design competition, a mid-century Modern up for sale and a bit of philosophical food for thought.

AIA Dallas' Young Architects Forum is partnering with West Village and the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority to hold an architectural design competition for several trolley rest stops at West Village.  The competition is open to architects who have been licensed for less than ten years, architectural interns and architecture students.  Designs are due September 10.  For all the details, go here.

Over at Daily Dirt, Candy Evans is always dealing up the best real estate news in town.  We just ran across this entry.  If you're in the market for a mid-century Modern in University Park...an AIA 25 Year Award winner no less, check it out.

Finally, some food for thought. FastCompany.com has this story on an architectural competition to design the National Library of Kazakhstan.  It raises the issue of architects and their moral obligations.  What do you think?
